Swapping a boiler or furnace is a venting and distribution project as much as an equipment purchase, especially in older Capital District housing. A boiler or furnace that is failing, noisy, or short-cycling should be diagnosed against venting, water or air distribution, safety controls, and combustion performance—swapping the cabinet without checking those is a common way to inherit the same problem twice.

Albany building context
Cast-iron boilers from the mid-twentieth century are still common in Albany's older neighborhoods, often paired with radiators that were never rebalanced after later insulation or window work changed the house's heat loss.
